Eligibility Criteria:
Non Married person with a Pakistani Nationality.
Age is not more than 20 years on December 31, 2023.
1 year of relaxation is given to the citizens of Fata, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Jamo Kashmir.
Educational Requirement:
HSSC pass candidate A/O level Pre-Engineering (Physics, Chemistry, Math) with a minimum of 55% marks can apply. Those candidate who are waiting for their 2nd year result can also apply but they should provide their hope certificate.
Education / Training / Certificates:
- 2 years training in PMA.
- After Successful completion of training Nautical Science and Marine Engineering degree is provided by the NED University of Engineering and Technology.
Scholarships:
There are a total of 37 scholarships that do not require any payment, and they are available to all Cadets. Additionally, there are 33 need-based scholarships provided by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs.
Out of
these, 15 scholarships are offered to students from Balochistan, 6 from KPK, 6
from Punjab, and 6 from Sindh. The Global Radiance Group of Companies also
sponsors 4 need-based scholarships.
How to Register:
To apply to the Pakistan Marine Academy, candidates can
visit their official website at http://www.marineacademy.edu.pk. The prospectus
and application forms can be obtained from the PMA Admission Office or
downloaded from the website.
To complete the application process, candidates need to submit the application form along with a pay order or bank draft of Rs. 2500/- made out to Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi, National Bank of Pakistan (branch code-0239).
Note:
If candidates are applying under the Self Finance Scheme (SFS), they need to include an additional pay order or bank draft of Rs. 300,000/- along with the application form. This SFS fee will be refunded if the candidate is selected through the open-merit process.
Selection Procedure:
- The entrance tests for the Pakistan Marine Academy will be held in various cities, including Abbottabad, Gwadar, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Muzaffarabad (AJK), Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, and Sukkur.
- To qualify for the entrance test, candidates must achieve a minimum score of 45%.
- Short-listed candidates will undergo a medical examination at designated Army/Navy/PAF Hospitals.
- The final selection process will be based on merit and will include a final interview and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) at the Pakistan Marine Academy.
The PET standards are as follows:
Running: Complete one mile (approximately 1.6 kilometers) within 8 minutes and 30 seconds.
Push-ups: Perform 10 repetitions in 2 minutes.
Sit-ups: Perform 10 repetitions in 2 minutes.
Chin-ups: Perform 2 repetitions in 2 minutes.
